We encourage all our students to lead active lifestyles, with exercise being an important part of everyone’s wellbeing. Malmesbury Sixth Form offers a range of clubs and teams in sports such as netball, hockey, rugby and football; fixtures are provided in these sports. There are also clubs like volleyball and basketball which are open to all; handball is being introduced this year. Sports leadership opportunities are encouraged and many sixth formers take part in supporting younger students to get involved in sport through lessons, officiating at interform competitions and festivals.
Students are also given opportunities to develop their coaching skills in water polo and triathlon; these coaching sessions are run by external specialists and therefore are self funded by students. Next door to our school site is The Activity Zone, a leisure complex which students can join and use during free time. Here they can access the swimming pool, gym, sports hall and fitness classes (membership required).
