Minibus Maintenance

Start date – As soon as possible

Salary – Grade D (£9.16/hour), term time only (38 weeks)

Casual hours (Flexible) 

Malmesbury School requires an enthusiastic person to look after our two minibuses. The role involves arranging regulatory checks, taking the minibuses to and from the garage. Checking on fuel and filling as necessary. Washing and cleaning the minibuses weekly, and general safety and maintenance checks. You would need to be available to take the minibuses to the garage if a problem is notified to us, and to jump-start the minibuses in cases of battery failure.

Teacher of Science

Start date – September 2019

Malmesbury School requires a dynamic, enthusiastic and well-qualified teacher of Science to join the Science Faculty. The Faculty has been awarded the Platinum Science Mark, which recognises the outstanding work of the Science Faculty. Applications are welcome from teachers of all science specialisms including NQTs. The school occupies a modern building with a suite of laboratories built around a faculty office and prep rooms.  All labs have an interactive whiteboard or Clevertouch screen and computer.  Students follow either AQA Trilogy Combined Science or the AQA Separate Sciences at GCSE with exam results for the last few years being exceptional. We have large numbers of students studying at least one science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Psychology) at A-level, with outstanding exam results. The Science Faculty has an ethos of “Inspiring and Equipping young people to discover their world” and we believe in using practical work to inspire our students and to support students in developing their investigative skills. The Faculty has a very successful YouTube Channel and a Facebook page which we encourage you to visit.

Teacher of Computing (Full or Part time)

Start date – 1st September 2019

Salary – MPS/UPS Athelstan Trust

Malmesbury School requires an enthusiastic, well-qualified and talented teacher of Computing. Applications from NQTs are welcome. The Mathematics and Computing Faculty is a dynamic and successful team with a history of very good exam results. The school has superb accommodation and the Faculty occupies a suite of classrooms grouped around a faculty office. All classrooms have interactive whiteboards and the faculty also has three dedicated computer rooms with PCs. Computer Science was introduced as an option into KS4 in 2014, and KS5 in 2016 and has proved popular; we currently have 71 students in KS4 doing AQA Computer Science together with 42 Cambridge National IT students. We have one Computer Science class in each of year 12 and year 13 studying AQA Computer Science A-Level.

The school occupies a modern building with excellent facilities including a gymnasium, hall and dance studio as well as five tennis/netball courts and extensive playing fields.  The school has strong relationships with local partners and has regular use of the sports hall at ‘The Activity Zone’ (Malmesbury sports centre), as well as access to the swimming pool. At Key Stage 4 Cambridge Nationals Sports Science and AQA GCSE P.E. are offered and large numbers of students sign up for these courses.  A Level PE is also offered and the faculty follows the OCR exam board. The outstanding extra-curricular programme offered to students is a particular strength with high levels of participation

  • 2 x 12.5hr Morning Shift, Hrs: 5.30am – 8am Monday to Friday OR 1 x 25hr position working 5.30am – 8am and 3.30pm – 6pm.
  • Term time only position with 10 days deep clean during holiday periods.
  • Salary: £7.83 per hour, paid on a ‘spread-over’ rate throughout the year.
